Preparing the muscles and joints for more intensive activity, helping to prevent injuries as well as promoting circulation.
We stretch to improve our flexibility. It is important because:
- It improves muscle balance around a joint, thus improving posture;
- It reduces the chance of injury when playing capoeira;
- It increases blood and nutrient supply to muscles and cartilage, thereby also reducing muscle soreness after training.
The instructor transmits to the pupils more than just body movements; a logical explanation goes together with every movement so that the learner understands the reason behind it.
Capoeira Circle or Roda de Capoeira (in Portuguese)
In this part of the class, students can demonstrate what they have learnt in class.It involves rhythm, acrobatic movements, singing and playing instruments.
As a sport, Capoeira works the body as a whole improving agility, coordination, elasticity and strength. But Capoeira is more than an exercise, it is a form of expression, a philosophy of life, a way to escape from daily stress, which provides an excellent physical condition.
